Maker Parties ignite the imaginations, creativity and curiosity of children and families aged 6-12 with a unique, hands-on creative experience. Children create animations using animation techniques, sets, backgrounds, nature, everyday materials and crafts, making it a fun, inspiring journey that keeps the excitement going long after the party ends, sparking their creativity to keep making and learning!
What happens at the party?
PLAY: We will play some games to understand how animation works!
LEARN: We will learn to experiment with animation to create different cool effects!
MAKE: We will imagine, create and make our own unique animations!

Toy Storytelling
Children will design and choose their own sets and backgrounds, transforming their favourite toys into stars of their very own animated story. They'll have the chance to bring their imagination to life, using their toys as characters in a world they create—full of fun, fantasy, and storytelling magic.

Arty Faces
Children can explore and experiment with animating their own Arty Faces, making them eyebrows lift, eyes roll, mouth move, frown, nose twitch, hair move, through stop motion animation. They'll bring their faces to life using everyday materials and crafts, sparking creative fun portraits.

Animating Magic
Children will discover and experiment with how to make things grow, shrink, appear, disappear, or even chop using everyday materials and elements from nature, bringing a touch of magic to their animation storytelling.

The animation maker event that we went to was fantastic. Emma is a great host and keeps the instructions simple and easy to follow. The creations that can be made are really impressive and my two children gained so much confidence with using “stop animation” video tools and being imaginative with their ideas. I would highly recommend a “maker party” or family day. You can use all the skills that you have learnt at home on those rainy days or to inspire the kids to be creative rather than watching screens.

We attended one of Emma's family animation workshops today, and it was a HUGE hit with our boys (ages 9 and 7). The event was very well resourced and set up and Emma gave a great little intro to the activities. It was lovely to see the children so absorbed in their animations and there was so much creativity and fun throughout the workshop. Really super session and has opened our eyes to a whole new world of fun to be had through animation!
