Maker Party FAQs
Who will be running the party?
It will be me! The same person you see on this website!
Who are they for?
Maker parties are for 6-12-year-olds.
How much do Maker parties cost?
Maker parties cost £300 for up to 25 guests.
How long are Maker parties?
Maker parties last 90 minutes, giving enough time for all the activities and challenges. If you would prefer a shorter party, we can adjust the number of activities accordingly. I recommend 60 minutes for creating animations, followed by 30 minutes for eating, and using the remaining time to wrap up any projects.
Do I need to provide anything before the party?
To help us create the best party ever, please fill out the booking form with as much detail as possible or give me a call and we talk about it. Once we receive it, we will have a quick chat on the phone and then send you a confirmation and an invoice. To secure your party, just pay a 50% deposit! I can hold the date for 5 days. I kindly ask that the remaining full deposit be paid via bank transfer 7 days before the Maker Party.
What do children need to bring to the party?
For all the most of the animation parties, the children don’t need to bring anything at all!
For the Toy Storytelling party, each child will need to bring small characters or figures that they can animate. For example, Lego characters or animals that can stand up. If you’re unsure, feel free to check out the animation for more ideas and I can send you a picture!
What are the best times for the party?
We are flexible, but generally, on the weekend or holidays 10:00-12:00 or 14:30-16:30 work best, taking into account kids energy levels and feeding times. I can do parties after school too!
What do I need to do to make it the best Maker Party?
Book a venue with a hall space for about 3-3.5 hours.
Arrange parking close to the venue.
Arrive at least 40 minutes before the party to set up and 30 minutes to pack down.
Need 11 tables and 10 chairs for the making area (if tables aren’t available, we can work on the floor which is easier). It’s helpful to have one side of the hall for food and another clear space for making.
You will need to take care of food, decorations, and anything else to make it special!
What areas do you work in?
I work in Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey, including Alton, Farnham, Alresford, Petersfield, Guildford, Basingstoke and Winchester. There may be a travel cost incurred depending on the location.
Can I do longer days?
Yes, we can do workshop, events, maker days, festivals, weddings and school events too! Just drop a message or call to enquire directly.
Are children safe throughout your parties?
Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. All our activities and challenges are fully risk-assessed. If you'd like, we can provide you with a copy of the risk assessment.
Is all the paperwork in order?
Yes! We are all fully enhanced DBS checked, and we are fully insured.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your party, please email us at creativemakerparties@gmail.com.
I offer a free cancellation and transfer option, which lets you move your party booking to a new date at no extra cost. All we ask is that you provide a new date within 14 days of cancelling. Your new party date can be up to 1 year after the original. Any deposit you’ve paid will simply be transferred to the new date.
If you cancel less than 14 days before your party, the full Maker Party fee will still be due.
In the rare event that we have to cancel your party due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ll refund any deposit paid in full.
